What a Ducted Reverse Cycle Service Includes
A proper service covers both the airflow side and the refrigeration side of the system. Here is what our technicians do on a standard ducted reverse cycle service.
Filters and airflow: remove, inspect and wash or replace the return-air filters, clean the indoor fan coil and blower, and check the supply and return air temperatures across the coil in both heating and cooling.
Refrigeration circuit: check the refrigerant charge and operating pressures, clean the outdoor condenser coil and straighten fins, inspect the indoor coil, and test the reversing valve and defrost cycle that let the system switch between heating and cooling.
Condensate: clear and flush the condensate drain line and tray, and check the pump if one is fitted, so you do not get water leaks or mould.
Ductwork and zones: inspect the accessible ductwork, connections and insulation for leaks or crushed runs, and test each zone motor and damper so every room gets the airflow it should. A duct that has come loose in the roof can quietly waste a large share of your heating and cooling.
Electrical and controls: inspect and tighten electrical connections and contactors, test the compressor start-up and running current, check the indoor blower and outdoor fan motors, confirm the isolator switch is sound, and test the wall controller. We then run a full operational cycle in both modes and give you an honest report on the system, including its age and efficiency.
