iZone air conditioning turns an ordinary ducted reverse cycle system into true room-by-room climate control. Built by an Australian company, iZone pairs a sleek wall touchscreen and a phone app with motorised zone dampers and temperature sensors, so each room can sit at the temperature you want instead of the whole house running to one thermostat. It goes further than most zoning systems too: the same iZone app can run your lighting, irrigation, smart plugs and garage door, which makes your air conditioner the first step towards a smart home. BM Heating & Cooling supplies, installs and services iZone across Melbourne, on brand-new ducted systems and as an upgrade to compatible existing ones, and we set every system up properly so it is easy to live with from day one.

Why Choose iZone Air Conditioning

Most ducted systems ship with a basic controller that reads the temperature in one spot and treats the house as one big space. The bedrooms get cold while the living room overheats, and you pay to condition rooms nobody is using. iZone is designed to fix exactly that.

Instead of opening and closing whole zones, iZone measures temperature in each zone and adjusts the airflow to suit, so comfort is even across the house and the system only works as hard as it needs to.

  • Room-by-room control: up to 14 zones, each able to hold its own temperature.
  • Precise airflow: zone dampers adjust in 5% steps rather than simply open or shut.
  • Control anywhere: wall touchscreen, iOS and Android app, Google Home, Alexa and Siri.
  • Long warranty: 10 years on registered iZone products, 5 years on Nova and Nova Mini.

How iZone Multi Zone Control Works

iZone sits between you and your ducted air conditioner. It connects to the indoor unit, to motorised dampers on each duct run in the roof, and to temperature sensors in the rooms, then manages all three together.

  • Touchscreen controller: replaces the standard wall controller and shows every zone at a glance.
  • Zone dampers: open and close in 5% increments to meter exactly the right amount of air into each room.
  • Room sensors: wired or wireless sensors report each zone's temperature in real time.
  • Roaming sensor technology: the system follows the zone furthest from its set point, so the unit works on the room that needs it most.
  • In-duct supply sensor: monitors the air leaving the unit to help it run efficiently.

Designed and installed to iZone's best-practice guidelines, iZone states each zone can be held within 1.0 degree of its set temperature.

Smart Features That Lower Running Costs

The real value of iZone is how much of the thinking it does for you. Set it up once and it quietly keeps the house comfortable while trimming waste.

Fan auto control: fan speed adjusts automatically to the number of zones that are open, so a single bedroom is not blasted with whole-house airflow.

Economy settings: lock a sensible temperature range, for example 22 to 24 degrees, so nobody cranks the system to extremes.

Lifestyle favourites: save up to nine of your own programs, like "bedtime" or "work from home", and run them with one tap.

Schedules and sleep timer: pre-heat on winter mornings or cool the bedrooms before you head to bed.

Filter and fault alerts: a "Clean Me" filter reminder plus real-time fault and damper fault notifications on screen.

Every one of these is about running the unit less while staying comfortable, which is where the savings on a Melbourne power bill come from.

iZone Nova landscape touchscreen air conditioning controller

iZone Nova

The latest-generation iZone wall controller. A large, clean landscape touchscreen that runs your zones, temperature, fan speed, schedules and modes, with a temperature sensor built in. Backed by a 5-year warranty.

iZone Nova Mini compact portrait touchscreen controller

iZone Nova Mini

The compact portrait version of Nova. Ideal as a second controller in the main bedroom or upstairs, or as the main panel where wall space is tight. Also covered by a 5-year warranty.

iZone Nexus+ touchscreen controller for air conditioning and home automation

iZone Nexus+

A whole-of-home touchscreen that adds air quality monitoring to climate control, so you can keep an eye on indoor conditions alongside your zones, lighting and other connected devices.

iZone Naked (App Only)

No wall controller at all. The system is run entirely from your phone or tablet through the iZone app, a tidy option for minimalist interiors or a budget-conscious upgrade.

iZone wireless room temperature sensor

Room Temperature Sensors

Compact, wireless and wired sensors let each zone read its own temperature. Wireless sensors mean less cutting into walls, which makes retrofitting an existing home much simpler.

Compatible

Works With Leading Brands

iZone lists compatibility with Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Rinnai, Braemar, Hitachi, Midea and more. Some models have limits, so we confirm your unit at quote time.

iZone Smart Home Automation

iZone does not stop at air conditioning. The same platform and app can grow with your home, so you can start with climate control and add more when you are ready, all managed from one place instead of a pile of separate apps.

One App for the Whole Home

Smart lighting: dimmable LED globes in millions of colours and a wide range of whites, grouped and scheduled by room. Smart irrigation: up to 24 independently controlled garden stations that adjust to the weather. Smart power: smart plugs, dimmers and relays for appliances. Garage and monitoring: garage door control, occupancy sensing and home energy monitoring.

iZone works with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Siri, IFTTT and Samsung SmartThings, and with Apple HomeKit through a connection bridge, so you can use your voice or link it into routines you already have.

iZone Installation in Melbourne

A zoning system is only as good as the way it is designed and fitted, and that is where most of the comfort is won or lost. Before we quote, we look at your floor plan, how your household uses each room and the size of your ducted unit, then plan zones that make sense, such as living areas, bedrooms and a home office, rather than splitting the house at random.

On installation day our technicians fit the motorised dampers on each duct run in the roof space, wire in the iZone control module, mount the touchscreen and room sensors, connect the Wi-Fi hub and pair the app on your phone. We then balance the airflow to each zone, run the system through heating and cooling, and walk you through schedules, favourites and economy settings before we leave.

Building a new home? Specifying iZone at the rough-in stage is the easiest and neatest time to do it, because sensor cabling and controller positions can go in before the plaster. Already have ducted air? In many homes iZone can be added to a compatible existing system, so you get smart zoning without replacing the whole unit. If your current system is near the end of its life, we can quote a new reverse cycle ducted system with iZone built in.

Service, Support & Warranty

iZone backs its registered products with a 10-year warranty, and the Nova and Nova Mini controllers with a 5-year warranty (conditions apply). On top of that, every system we install carries our own workmanship guarantee.

Because iZone reports faults on screen, including individual damper faults, problems are easier to pin down. If something is not right, our technicians can diagnose and repair your iZone system, recalibrate sensors, replace dampers or controllers and service the ducted unit it runs, all in the one visit.

Regular servicing keeps the whole system efficient: clean filters, balanced airflow and sensors reading correctly mean iZone can do its job and keep your running costs down.

iZone Air Conditioning FAQs

iZone is a smart climate control system made by an Australian company for ducted reverse cycle air conditioning. It replaces your standard wall controller with a touchscreen and app, adds motorised zone dampers and room sensors, and lets each room hold its own temperature. The same iZone platform can also run lighting, irrigation, smart plugs and garage doors.

iZone supports up to 14 zones on a ducted system, each of which can have its own temperature sensor and set point. A system can also run multiple touchscreen controllers, so you can have a panel in the living area and another in the main bedroom or upstairs.

In many cases, yes. iZone lists compatibility with major brands including Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Rinnai, Braemar, Hitachi and Midea, though some models have limits. We check your exact unit and ductwork as part of your free quote.

iZone only sends conditioned air to the zones that need it, adjusts dampers in 5% steps, slows the fan automatically when fewer zones are open, and lets you lock economy temperature limits and schedules. Less wasted airflow means the ducted unit runs less to keep you comfortable.

Nova is the latest large landscape touchscreen, Nova Mini is the compact portrait version, Nexus+ adds air quality monitoring and whole-of-home control, and Naked has no wall panel and runs entirely from the app. We recommend one based on your home, how many controllers you want and whether you plan to add smart home features.

Yes. The iZone app runs on iPhone, iPad and Android devices once the iZone smart hub is connected, and you can invite other members of the household to use it. iZone also works with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Siri, IFTTT and Samsung SmartThings, and with Apple HomeKit through a connection bridge.

iZone provides a 10-year warranty on registered iZone products and a 5-year warranty on the Nova and Nova Mini controllers, with conditions applying. BM Heating & Cooling also backs every installation with our own workmanship guarantee.

BM Heating & Cooling supplies, installs and services iZone across Melbourne, from new home builds to upgrades of compatible existing ducted systems. We design the zones, fit the dampers, controllers and sensors, balance the airflow and set up the app with you before we leave.
