Reverse Cycle Air Conditioner Maintenance

During our planned preventive maintenance and emergency service, many checks and adjustments are made in addition to the regular cleaning that your unit receives every three months. These are necessary in order for us to check for possible malfunctions or other problems which could crop up suddenly on any part of the unit over a period of time.

• Clean or replace air filters to keep your air fresh and clean.
• Give the cooling and heating parts a good clean–Dust and other deposits can easily accumulate in places where they shouldn’t.
• Check whether cooling gas levels are correct and top them up if necessary.
• Inspect all electrical bits to make sure they are in safe working order.
• Give any moving parts a dip of oil now and then as needed in order to keep them moving quietly.
• Set the temperature control and test it to make sure it is functioning exactly as it should.
• Check which way air is actually flowing through your system. This can be done by holding match flame up against one of the vents until the entire thing goes out
• Look carefully at the unit outside to clear away any leaves and rubbish and check for any damage
• Run the whole system to see how well it works in general
• Keep your eyes open for any undue wear and tear that may show up. Fix problems on the spot before they grow into something serious.
